Teammates has an abundance of staff, all of which have had to go through hours of training and multiple background checks. After offering a job to a new employee, the new staff must go through a training process that Teammates pays for. Staff must complete an 8 hour initial training, a First Aid and CPR course, background knowledge of each individual served, and many other required trainings before starting with Teammates. Likewise, any and all staff must get/ renew their background check.
There is seperate training for driving with Teammates. This specific part of the job that includes a practice route on a van with just the transportation supervisor, MVR checks, drivers abstracts that are renewed, drug testings that get renewed by each staff, and many other protocols to ensure the safety of individuals served.
Teammates pays for a training for staff to take to be able to pass medications to individulas served while the individual served is attending Teammates. Teammates staff that are certified with this training are required to follow all protocols such as documentation, safety of perscription label, wearing proper PPE, and other safety measures Teammates Staff has been trianed on.
Teammates offers many other trainings such as Van wheelchair lift safety, Fire and Tornado safety, client specific seizure training plan, client specific eating support training, PMT or behavior safety training, as well as many other trainings to help ensure the safety of individuals served.
