Teammates Center volunteers at a number of volunteer sites offering many different job skils for each person served to have the opportunity to chose which volunteer sites they want to go to throughout the week. Each of our two volunteer sites per day per group lasts 1.5 hours. We volunteer at a number of churches and work on job skills such as office skills, shredding, filing, organizing, and setting up tables chairs, hymnals, pack lunches etc. Churches are a great place to volunteer especially during this Covid Season becasue we are not only able to get in the community and volunteer but we are able to be in the community in a safe space where the only people in the building is our group.
Teammates volunteers at the Natatorium where we have access to clean the entire Natatorium. Teammates has multiple groups volunteer at the Natatorium throughout the week as well as access to use the track, swimming pool and other amenities the Natatorium has to offer
Teammates Center picks up bread from one of our volunteer sites and brings the bread back to the Center to package up. Teammates will package the bread following guidelines and later delivers the bread to Haven of Rest.
Teammates Center volunteers at the Haven of Rest and we set lunches out on trays just like the model tray. Teammates also volunteers making cards that are delivered to the surrounding Nursing homes, or on the trays Teammates Center sets out for lunch.
Teammates Center goes shopping once a week to different stores and picks up ingredients needed for what the group has decided to make for that week.
Teammates Center volunteers at the Salvation Army Store and is able to rag out clothes and organize clothes on the racks.
Teammates Center has set time aside throughout the day to work on daily living skills. Daily living skills include, laundry skills, loading and unloading the dishwasher, shredding, vacuuming, organize kitchen cupboards, clean tables and chairs, take the trash out and many other independent daily living skills.
Teammates Center provides the opportunity to cook once a week that follows the Tasty Tuesday daily focus lesson. Teammates focus' on cooking skills such as how to use a stove top, safe use of an oven, how to follow a step by step recipe, budgeting money, creating a shopping list and many other skills to better the independence of individuals served.
Teammates Center offers an adapted Music Class. Teammates has a Music teacher lead a class and bring instruments like guitars, banjos, xylophones, and more. Teammates also has 2 pianos of our own!
